Bhubaneswar:The union minister of state for railways, Manoj Sinha, dedicated passenger amenities and launched railway projects through video conferencing from East Coast Railway (ECoR) headquarter Rail Sadan, here on Wednesday.

ECoR general manager Umesh Singh, BJD MP Prasanna Kumar Patasani, were present at Bhubaneswar and BJD MLA Raseswasri Panigrahi was present at Sambalpur.

Sinha laid the foundation stone of Road Over Bridge (RoB) at Khetarajpur in Sambalpur and flagged off  train on electric traction from Sambalpur on newly electrified section of Sambalpur and Jharsuguda. Apart from this Sinha launched Wi-Fi Services at Khurda Road railway station.

Giving highest emphasis on passenger amenities at stations and trains, Sinha said that focus is being given to connect railways with unconnected regions. Sinha also said  railway will stand on its commitment on different projects including Jeypore – Malkanagiri Project. Funds will not be an issue for any projects in this region.

Shri Sinha said that projects like Khurda Road-Balangir, Haridaspur-Paradeep and Angul-Sukinda lines are being monitored at the highest levels of Government. He stated that he had a firm belief that progress of a state is linked to progress in Railway infrastructure. States like Odisha were neglected in field of railways for years together. Hence, priority is now being given to high level of funding to all old and pending projects.
