New Delhi: National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco) has handed over two cheques, totaling Rs. 557.80 crore, consisting of interim dividend of Rs.436.54 crore and final dividend amounting Rs.121.26 crore to the union ministry of mines.The cheques were presented to union mines, coal and parliamentary affairs minister Prahallad Joshi by Nalco CMD Tapan Kumar Chand, here on Thursday.

The union mines secretary Anil Mukim, additional secretary K. Rajeswara Rao, joint secretary Anil Kumar Nayak, and Nalco director (P & T) Sanjib Roy were present.

 Nalco had declared a total 115% dividend of its paid up capital amounting Rs.1072.73crore (excluding Dividend Distribution Tax) for the financial year 2018-19. This includes the government of India’s share of Rs. 557.80 crore. Nalco has paid a total of Rs.8539.61 crore as dividend, including Rs.6585.57crore as share of government of India since its inception.
